26937836194_f4fddd802d_kThe Sea to Sky Trail Epic was a success! We had four ladies on Saturday and two on Sunday. It was a lot of fun! It was challenging in parts, but everyone survived and had smiles on their faces. I have to say that it was very rewarding to see how amazed and impressed they all were with the views, lakes, beaches, trails and other sights. The Saturday was challenging for everyone, the climbs weren’t easy for some, but the cold rain of the last hour transformed us all into little monsters wanting to get to our destination ASAP!

We didn’t camp as we had planned once we arrived in Whistler, as a hotel room was essential for warming up and being in good shape for the Sunday’s ride home. I think we should do this ride again in August so we can stop for refreshing dips in some of the beautiful lakes we encountered.

The Tall Tree Bakery treats and sandwiches were appreciated by everyone as well as the coffee stop at Camp in function junction. We all had cyclocross bikes except for one of the Sunday rider who used a Pique. I would say that the CX bikes were more appropriate for the distance that had to be covered, but the Pique was great on the trail.
